BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Temblor Brewing Company is getting into the Cinco de Mayo spirit with their beer. This weekend the local craft beer brewery made a special batch of their Mexican lager, El Cerrito, aged a couple of months in a tequila barrel.
Temblor co-owner Tom Maxwell said the special batch was to honor Bakersfield's Mexican heritage and to create an extra fun way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo combining two of Mexico's favorite alcohols.
Other bars and restaurants are taking part in the Cinco de Mayo festivities.
La Mina is hosting their second day of their Cinco de Mayo Parking Lot Party. Live music with Mexican food will start at 2 p.m. on Sunday in their Parking Lot on District Boulevard.
The Padre will be serving Mexican food, margaritas and micheladas Sunday while the band Rockamole will be playing live music. Their festivities kick off at 1 p.m.
And finally On the Vine will give you another alternative outside of beer and wine. They will be serving wine-inspired margaritas and mimosaritas.
If beer and tequila are your thing Temblor will be your best chance to trying them together with their special beer. They open at 11 a.m.
