For the 16th year in a row Thanksgiving food baskets will be packaged and distributed to North of the River families by community partners.

The North High School Interact Club, Standard School District and the Bakersfield Police Department will give away 300 Thanksgiving food baskets to families who might not otherwise have a Thanksgiving dinner.

The Bakersfield North Rotary has raised money for this basket project from the very beginning along with other sponsors like Chevron, Varner Brothers Inc., and The Wonderful Company.

This year, the baskets will be distributed in the new Standard Middle School Multi-Purpose Room located at 1222 N. Chester Avenue starting at 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 22.
