The County does not meet criteria to move into the later phases of stage 2

In a multiphase plan to reopen the state. Governor Newsom is allowing counties to transition further into stage 2, but they must pass a certain criteria. As of right now Kern County doesn't adhere to all of the criteria.

Early phases of stage 2 include curbside pick-ups for businesses such as florist, retail stores, and bookstores. To move further into this stage, counties must meet a specific criterion. Later phases in stage 2 include, dine-in restaurants and office spaces.

And on Monday, County Administrative Officer, Ryan Alsop saying the county meets all of the criteria to move forward with the exception of two provisions. However, Alsop says the county is working with the state in hopes of moving forward despite not reaching these criteria.
