BAKERSFIELD, Calif — The Family of Fernando Ramirez has filed a lawsuit against the Kern County Sheriff's Department and Sergeant James Anton after Ramirez was killed in head on collision.

Fernando Ramirez and Micheal Ferialdi were both killed in a head-on collision on State Route 14 in Ridgecrest last year.

A third passenger was in the car with Ramirez and Ferialdi and was injured in the crash as well as Sergeant James Anton.

A monetary amount was not listed in the lawsuit.

The Kern County Board of Supervisors will officially receive the claim on Tuesday.
