The Kern High School District will begin taking applications from non-employee concealed carry permit holders to carry a firearm on school grounds Wednesday.
Individuals seeking permission can do so through the KHSD Police Department starting August 17.
On June 27th the KHSD Board of Trustees passed a policy allowing non-employee CCW permit holders to submit an application for permission to carry a firearm on school grounds through the Superintendent.
A policy to allow KHSD employees to carry firearms on campus is under consideration by the Board of Trustees.
