LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Los Angeles Lakers are this year's NBA champions.

The purple and gold defeated the Miami Heat 106-93 in Game 6 of the NBA Finals Sunday night.

Lebron James was named the 2020 NBA Finals MVP. James has won four NBA titles, being named the Finals MVP each time.

This one is for Kobe Bryant.

Lakers power forward Anthony Davis told media after the game that "ever since the tragedy, all we've wanted to do, is do it for him [Kobe]."

The Lakers have now won 17 NBA championships, tying them with the Boston Celtics for most all time.
