BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — As temperatures begin to rise, reaching triple digits, residents and families need access to a cool place.

The Mission at Kern County has become an official cooling center when temperatures rise to or exceed 100 degrees.

The day center is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is located at 821 E. 21st St.
