BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — If you're looking for a summer activity for the kiddos, Stockdale Country Club is offering PGA Jr. League to boys and girls ages 13 and under.
PGA Jr. League is a way for kids to learn and play golf while bringing friends and family together to enjoy golf experiences with expert coaching and instruction from PGA and LPGA Professionals. Boys and girls of all backgrounds and playing abilities compete in a two-person scramble format that encourages mentorship, builds confidence, and promotes sportsmanship.
According to the PGA Jr. League, in 2018, over 50,000 kids participated on 4,200 teams nationwide.
In a news release, Garrett Goodrich with Stockdale Country Club said:
"Golf is a game that can be enjoyed for a lifetime, and PGA Jr. League is the ideal program for all kids, from those who've never picked up a club to experienced junior golfers."
An open house will be held Wednesday, May 15 at Seven Oaks Country Club from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Families will have the opportunity to learn more about and register for PGA Jr. League in Bakersfield. Please note that registration will close May 31 or when team(s) are filled.
