A northwest Bakersfield business owner says a thief dropped a note after burglarizing his business on Sunday morning.

The note, which can be viewed above, talks about the thief's regrets and personal life. The business owner says he found the note near the burglar's van, saying it fell out as he left.

The thief stole a pop-up tent and siphoned gas from one of the company vehicles. However, the gas that was siphoned was diesel fuel; it's unknown if the man intended to steal diesel, or if he thought it was gasoline.
