Thieves break into SW Bakersfield gas station, steal money and tobacco products

Owner estimates $15,000 of damage and stolen goods

Security cameras caught three thieves breaking into a gas station in Southwest Bakersfield Friday morning. It happened at The Spot Food Mart and 76 Gas Station on Wilson Road.

 

Bakersfield Police said three men, thought to be in their 20s, broke into the store around 4:30 Friday morning.

 

When 23 ABC talked with the owner of the store he estimated $15,000 of damage and stolen goods at his store.

 

The owner showed us surveillance video to help catch the thieves. The video shows three thieves pulling up in a white four-door car, smashing then going through a window, using a red bin to load tobacco products and shoving things into their pockets before leaving through the broken window.

 

The owner said he recently opened the gas station and has over forty surveillance cameras on the property.
