Third Annual Christian Simpson Golf Tournament benefits children battling cancer

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — You still have time to sign up for a local golf tournament benefiting children and families battling childhood cancer at Valley Children's Hospital.

The Third Annual Christian Simpson Gold Tournament is scheduled for September 14 at the Buena Vista Golf Course.

Christian Simpson was a 18-year-old Taft teenager who lost his battle to stage four Rhabdomyosarcoma. The foundation was created in his name and now supports other families and children battling the disease.

There are still open spots for teams to take part in the tournament which is a four-person scramble. Registration is $400 per team/ $100 per player.

There will be lunch, awards, raffle drawings and more.

All proceeds raised from the tournament directly benefit families with children battling cancer in Kern County.
