A man is missing thousands of dollars worth of tools after his company work truck was broken into Monday night at a hotel parking lot in central Bakersfield.

Between $1500 and $2000 worth of tools were taken on Nov. 27 at 10 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express on Buck Owens Boulevard.

Surveillance video shows a man taking tools from the truck.

The company that had the truck broken into is out of Clovis, and the man was working on a site in the Bakersfield area. He told 23ABC he filed a police report.

The man who is missing his tools told 23ABC that one of his bins in his truck doesn't lock, but all of the other bins do. However, he said the lock is pretty generic and it is likely the person who took the tools could mess with it and get it open.
