WASCO, Calif. — Three people were arrested in Wasco last week for firearm charges, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies with the Wasco Substation said on November 21, 2019 at around 8:30 p.m., they did a traffic stop on a car near Griffith Avenue and Cisco Way.

According to officials, after detaining 24-year-old Raul Alvarez-Carrillo, 19-year-old Oscar Zuniga and a juvenile, deputies then did a probation search and found multiple illegal items including a firearm, drugs and drug paraphernalia along with evidence of gang-related activity.

Alvarez-Carrillo and Zuniga were arrested for weapons charges including alteration of a firearm’s identification information, possession of a firearm by a gang member, and participation in a criminal street gang along with multiple drug charges. Alvarez-Carrillo was also charged with several vehicle code infractions.

The juvenile passenger was also booked into Juvenile Hall for similar charges.
