New basic military training graduates from Kern County

Four people will be representing Kern County in the military after graduating from basic military training.

All four graduated from Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

U.S. Air Force National Guard Airman 1st Class Jennifer C. Gomez Hernanadez is a 2018 graduate of Ridgeview High School in Southwest Bakersfield.

U.S. Air Force Airman Ethan Sanchez is a 2018 graduate of Tehachapi High School in Tehachapi.

U.S. Air Force Airman Andrea Rojas is a 2017 graduate of North High School in Oildale.

U.S. Air Force Airman Bryan Cortez is a 2018 graduate of Sherman E. Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest.

The airmen "completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills." Each also earned four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force by completing basic training.
