Three-legged dog gets leg from robotics students

Posted
Pit bull puppy Trinity, got her very first walk with a prosthetic leg Friday, thanks to Tehachapi High School Robotics students.

Trinity was found by a homeless man a few months ago, severely malnourished and with only three legs. Marley's Mutts took her in and have been working with Tehachapi High School's Robotics students.

Blake Olson, a junior at THS, spearheaded the project and wanted to make a difference in this pup's life.

"They see it as a final product, they don't see all the time you've put into it and the people who've worked on it with me. It's like a new feeling you know?" Olson said.

He spent dozens of hours working on the project and Friday was a huge step in the process, where the peg leg was attached to the cast on the pup's stump.

It took more than an hour to perfect the new cast and leg insert, but once on, the pup started trying it out.

Olson said there will be more modifications to be done, and Trinity has some growing to do in the mean time.
