A crash involving three vehicles brought traffic to a standstill on eastbound 178, near the Beale Avenue exit.

The crash happened just after 1:30 a.m. and the highway was closed for a period of time. Several law enforcement agencies were assisting at the scene as they cleared roadways.

The extent of the injuries is still unknown at this time and the California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
