California Highway Patrol officers traded in their uniforms for aprons as they serve up the seventh annual Tips For CHiPs Luncheon at the Outback Steakhouse beqnefiting the CHP Widows and Orphans Trust Fund, in memory of CHP Officer Mark Ehly.

The event raised $30,000 Wednesday.

It is the biggest single-day fundraising event for the CHP Widows and Orphans Trust Fund. Over the past seven years, $170,000 has been raised locally for the fund.

The benefit lunch will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m for only $25.

All proceeds will go directly to the CHP Widows and Orphans Trust Fund.
