Toys for Tots short on toys and asking for community assistance

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — They make presents under the tree possible for thousands every Christmas, but this year the Bakersfield branch of Toys for Tots has seen a dip in donations and is asking for help. Toys R Us was a corporate sponsor for Toys for Tots and since the retail giant closed its doors, Toys for Tots is in need of a bit of support from the community.

Toy distribution day for the organization is right around the corner on December 14 and if you'd like to donate a new, unwrapped toy, here's a list of locations and dates you can do so.

Here are a few locations and dates that you can donate toys.
December 1
-Black Angus at 3601 Rosedale Hwy. Bring a toy and receive a $15 coupon good for the month of December.
December 2
-El Portal Mexican Restaurant at 1100 Calloway is hosting a brunch with the Marines where you can get a picture with Santa.
December 4
-Victors Mexican Grill 9500 Brimhall Road 7:30am
December 5
-5pm – 8pm Black Angus at 3601 Rosedale Hwy. Bring a toy and receive a $15 coupon good for the month of December.
December 12
-5pm – 8pm Black Angus at 3601 Rosedale Hwy. Bring a toy and receive a $15 coupon good for the month of December.
