BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Final stripping for the 24 Street corridor is scheduled to begin Sunday night and last through Thursday night between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Traffic detection loops will also be installed.

The work will result in alternating closures of both 23 and 24 Streets between the Kern River Bridge and Highway 178.

Alternating lane closures continue during daytime hours between Oak Street and B Street/Bay Street for streetscaping. These lane closures may be in effect weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. through the end of September. At least one lane will remain open in each direction.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid these work areas or allow extra time to reach their destinations if they must travel through the corridor during these time periods.

This schedule may be changed without notice due to unforeseen circumstances.
