The City of Bakersfield has announced lane closures that will affect California Ave and Mohawk St starting at 9 p.m. Monday night.
According to the city, alternating lanes will be closed on California Ave between Marella Way and Easton Drive from 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for restriping. The closures affect both directions of travel, but at least one lane will remain open to traffic.
In addition, alternating lane closures will also be needed tonight on southbound Mohawk Street between the Westside Parkway and Truxtun Avenue. This work will result in a month-long closure of the outside southbound lane in this area for the construction of a new Park & Ride facility.
The City of Bakersfield recommends taking alternate routes if possible. They also ask that drivers slow down and watch for construction crews.
The previously announced closure of Highway 99, Stockdale Highway and Ming Avenue, between the hours of 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. remain in effect. This closure will affect northbound and southbound traffic, as well as the westbound Highway 58 to southbound Highway 99 loop ramp.
Both directions of Wible Road will also be closed during these hours as the bridge spans above the roadway.
