BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — According to the city of Bakersfield State Route 99 on-ramp from Ming Avenue will be closed Thursday from 4 a.m. until 6 a.m. in order to move construction equipment to a new location. The same location will be closed on Friday from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Motorists can access NB 99 from the Wible Road on-ramp.
In addition, the current closure of Wible Road between Belle Terrace and Ming Avenue will continue through Friday between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
"Southbound vehicles will be detoured at Belle Terrace. The detour route follows Belle Terrace to H Street, south to Ming Avenue, then west on Ming Avenue to return to Wible Road. Northbound Wible Road will remain open."
"Next week, the northbound State Route 99 on-ramp from Ming Avenue is scheduled to be closed during nighttime hours on Monday, August 12. In addition, nighttime closures of the northbound and southbound #3 (outside) lanes on State Route 99 have been scheduled for Monday, August 12 through Thursday, August 15. These nighttime closures are expected to be in effect between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m."
Drivers should plan to take alternate routes. The city of Bakersfield asks drivers to "slow down and watch for construction workers and equipment while driving in the vicinity of this work."
