BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — If you're planning to travel on the south side of 24th Street, between Oak Street and Beech Street this weekend expect delays due to lane closures.

The Thomas Roads Improvement Program will conduct pavement operations on Friday and Saturday nights, April 5 through April 6 between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.

Workers will grind out the median and place temporary pavement to move traffic to the south side of 24th Street allowing road construction on the north side of 24th Street to begin.

In addition, the C Street and Drake Street intersections will be closed on the north side of 24th Street from Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m. through Monday, April 8 at 5 a.m. The contractor will complete improvements on the north side of 24th Street between these two streets during the weekend-long closure.
