BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Due to paving on the north side of intersections along 23rd Street lane closures will begin at 5 p.m. tonight.

The construction work will close off access to and from 23rd Street and is expected to re-open by 5 a.m. each day.

According to the Thomas Roads Improvement Program, the planned schedule is as follows:

• Tuesday, April 9: D Street, F Street, and G Street
• Wednesday, April 10: E Street, H Street, and Eye Street
• Thursday, April 11: Chester Avenue and K Street
• Sunday, April 14: L Street and M Street

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes, if possible
