The City of Bakersfield wants residents to be aware of changes to the trash collection schedule this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

There will be no trash pickup on Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 23. The City of Bakersfield Solid Waste Division said all Thursday trash, recycling and green-waste services will be made on Friday.

Friday collections will be made on Saturday.

The Mt. Vernon Green Waste Facility will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day and reopen on Friday, Nov. 24 at 7 a.m.
