Tree crashes into southwest Bakersfield home, makes home uninhabitable

Tree falls through roof of southwest Bakersfield home
Posted

Sunday's thunderstorms caused a 30-foot pine tree to topple onto a southwest Bakersfield home.

Leasa Sanford rents a home that she said is now deemed uninhabitable by the Kern County Fire Department.

Her neighbor's tree crashed onto her home Sunday afternoon, completely uprooting and causing severe damage throughout the home.

The fallen tree caused the most damage to her sunroom, with a branch poking through the roof and exposed insulation. A bedroom and living room also sustained damage.

Sanford said her two Chihuahuas were in the sunroom when the tree fell and are a bit shaken up, but are okay.

Nobody was injured.
