BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Thomas Roads Improvement Program has reminded drivers of the nighttime closure scheduled for Wednesday night for the westbound Westside Parkway on-ramp from Truxtun Avenue.
The closure is said to be in place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., with weather permitting. During this time, crews will place a temporary concrete barrier rail along both sides of the on-ramp, TRIP officials detailed in a news release. The temporary barrier rail will remain in place while permanent barrier rail is constructed and the concrete is cured. The ramp will operate with a single lane during this period.
TRIP also said the outside lane on Truxtun Avenue to the westbound Westside Parkway on-ramp will be closed and will remain closed for the next two weeks.
Please not that if there is heavy fog during the closure, especially Wednesday night, officials said they will work to rescheduled and the closures will be in effect on December 12.
Additional nighttime closures are also planned for the westbound on-ramp from Tuesday, December 17 through Thursday, December 19, TRIP reported. These closures will also be in effect from 9 p.m. through 5 a.m. each night, weather permitting.
