TRONA, Calif. — Residents in the earthquake-ravaged town of Trona will need to find a new way to get their mail out - at least temporarily. According to the United States Postal Service, the Trona Post Office on Searless Street has been closed due to earthquake damage.

In a release, the USPS stated, "Until further notice, Trona postal customers can retrieve their P.O. Box mail and obtain retail services at Ridgecrest Post Office located at 101 E. Coso Avenue, Ridgecrest, CA 93555. All other mail is being delivered. Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Postal customers can also take advantage of USPS Change of Address for temporary moves if customers are unable to come to the Ridgecrest Post Office to obtain their mail."

To find out more about the temporary move service, they can visit the USPS website.

It's important that residents bring a photo ID with them to pick up mail and packages.
