Truck catches power lines, causes power outage on Panama Road

Posted

The California Highway Patrol says a big rig driving on Panama Road may have caught power lines causing a power outage in Southeast Bakersfield.

According to the CHP, a semi hauling a box trailer with an open top caught the power lines just after 3 Tuesday afternoon in the area of Panama and Cottonwood roads.

The downed power lines caused an outage to about 34 Pacific Gas & Electric customers, according to the PG&E website.

Full power is expected to be restored around 6:15 p.m.
