As the NHL season wraps up, future players can begin taking steps toward making it to the biggest stage on the ice.
The Los Angeles Kings High School Hockey League is holding tryouts for teams to compete in the 2018-19 season, with one of those teams coming from Kern County.
The Kern County Knights will hold tryouts tonight at the Bakersfield Ice Center at 7:30.
There will be another tryout on Monday at 7:45 p.m.
The Kern County Knights junior varsity team will have a tryout on June 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Coaches for the varsity are Paul Willett and Martin Raymond. The junior varsity coaches are Dylan Johnson and Bill Hawley.
