The Stephen Siller Tunnels to Towers 5K Run & Walk has made its way to Bakersfield! The event will take place in September to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. According to the Stephen Siller Foundation, the Run & Walk series was created to retrace the final steps of Siller. 

The organization's mission is to honor the military and first responders who continue to make sacrifices for our country. This is the first time that the event will take place in Bakersfield.

All proceeds of the event benefit the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Smart Home Program which builds custom designed homes for the nations most catastrophically injured service members.

The Run and Walk will begin on Saturday, September 8 at 7 a.m. at River Walk Park.
