Two arrested on weapons charges during probation search in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Probation Department conducted a probation search that resulted in the arrest of two men on weapons charges.

On Tuesday night at around 7:30 p.m. the department conducted a search in the 600 block of Mint St. During the search officers found a Glock 19 pistol which was reported stolen out of Houston, Texas, and a homemade 9mm Polymer 80 pistol with no serial number, as well as several hundred rounds of ammunition and suspected heroin.

Arrested were 27-year-old Cheyenne Gonzalez and 43-year-old Juan Castaneda. Both face various weapons and drug charges in addition to probation violations.

Gonzalez and Castaneda were booked into the Kern County Central Receiving Facility.
