Two dancers from Bakersfield star in Childish Gambino’s viral music video, “This is America”.
Donald Glover Jr., 34, who uses the stage name Childish Gambino, has Kern County ties being born at Edwards Air Force Base in 1983. Last week he released his single and music video “This is America” featuring five main backup dancers.
Two of those backup dancers also have Kern County ties. Siblings Trinity Penn, 19, and Devin, 14, live and dance in Bakersfield.
Last weekend, Glover starred as the guest host and musical guest, Childish Gambino, of Saturday Night Live. Trinity and Devin dance with the actor/singer while he performed his song “This is America” on SNL.
23ABC has talked with the sibling’s father and he told us they are instructors at PennPoint Dance Academy on 18th Street in Downtown Bakersfield.
