Deputies found two firearms and over a pound and a half of methamphetamine during a search Thursday evening.
The Gang Unit Street Enforcement and Investigation Team executed a search warrant near 3rd Street and Eye Street in Central Bakersfield.
Deputies contacted 58-year-old Larry Gillette and 48-year-old Karen Tinder. During the search they found over a pound and a half of methamphetamine scales, packaging material, police scanners, $7,000 in U.S. currency and surveillance equipment.
Deputies also found a 380 semi-auto handgun and a 22-caliber rifle.
Both Gillette and Tinder were arrested on multiple narcotics related charges including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale.
Gillette had additional charges which included possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm and being a prior convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
