BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE (12:16 p.m.): Bakersfield Police say a third suspect was in the suspect vehicle during the chase, but ran from the vehicle and is still wanted.

Investigators say there were two male suspects in the vehicle at the start of the chase. Then, at some point, the passenger jumped out of the vehicle and a female suspect jumped into the car.

Police were assisted by KCSO and Air One. Investigators say the chase was brief, which allowed them to continue following the suspects.

The suspects, a 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, have been arrested. Their names and charges have not been released at this time.

There is no description of the third suspect.

Two people are now in police custody after a brief car chase involving a vehicle that may have been involved in a robbery.

Bakersfield Police confirm to 23ABC News that the two people were taken into custody near the corner of Oak Street and Brundage Lane.

The Kern County Sheriff's Office helicopter initially got a LoJack response on a suspected stolen vehicle and Bakersfield Police were called to stop the vehicle on Oak Street. The driver did not stop for officers and a brief chase kicked off.

The vehicle then stopped near the corner of Oak and Brundage and the two suspects ran. They were taken into custody a short time later.

BPD officials say the robbery believed to be connected to the vehicle happened in the County and KCSO is investigating. A call to the Sheriff's Office was not immediately answered.
