Two recent Kern County graduates and another who graduated in 2013 heard their names called in the 2018 MLB Draft on Wednesday.
Allan Winans, a pitcher at Campbell University who graduated from Frontier High School in 2013, was selected by the New York Mets in the 17th round of the draft (500th overall).

Jacen Roberson, an outfielder who graduated from Garces Memorial High School, was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 24th round (734th overall). In a tweet, Garces Memorial said Roberson is currently committed to play baseball at Cal State Bakersfield.

Sean Mullen, a pitcher who graduated from Stockdale High School, was taken by the Colorado Rockies in the 35th round (1,056th overall). Mullen tells 23 ABC he will stick to his commitment to UCLA and play for the Bruins next season.
