Two killed in Arvin crash; car operated by unlicensed 16-year-old

An unlicensed 16-year-old was the driver of a car involved in a deadly accident in Arvin Friday night.

Four student passengers were in the car heading south on Malaga Road. The driver failed to stop at a stop sign on Buena Vista Boulevard, lost control, and crashed into a dirt berm, according to California Highway Patrol.

15-year-old Victor Garcia and 14-year-old David Flores were thrown from the vehicle. Flores died on scene and Garcia died later on at Kern Medical, according to CHP.
