Two missing, one dead after KCSO responds to three separate water rescues

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Two people are missing and one woman has been declared dead after The Kern County Sheriff’s Office responded to three separate calls of missing people in the water.

On Thursday around 4:36 p.m. Air 5 landed in the area of Rabbit Island in Kern Valley where officials gave CPR to a woman who was declared dead.

About 20 minutes later around 4:56 p.m., KCSO Search and Rescue was called out for three people in the water area of a Granite Point. One of them was saved by KCFD, the other was self rescued, and one is still missing.

KCSO and Park Rangers responded to the Kern River near Lake Ming around 5:11 p.m. for a missing 20-year-old male.

The search for the two missing people is still underway.
