On June 8, 2017 at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers were patrolling the 200 block of Desert Breeze near Randsburg Mojave Road, when they observed a vehicle blocking the driveway of a nearby residence. Officers recognized this vehicle as a vehicle belonging to a resident who was out of town.
As they pulled up to the residence, they observed a male subject, Jerome Williams, who had recently been arrested for prowling, run into the house. Numerous attempts to have Williams come to the door were unsuccessful.
California City Police officers coordinated with LAPD officers, who contacted the owner of the vehicle and confirmed the vehicle had in fact been stolen, but not yet reported. Based on that information, CCPD officers obtained a search warrant.
While executing the search warrant, officers discovered an additional stolen vehicle in the back yard of the residence. Officers later arrested Jerome Williams for possession of stolen property and Alisha Marie Darragh for several outstanding warrants.
We also discovered the occupants had been stealing electricity for their residence by tapping into an Edison electricity line. The house was deemed to be uninhabitable by Code Enforcement and was "Red Tagged".
