Two people were injured after a 55 gallon drum caught fire at the NuSil plant.

At 9 a.m., KCFD received reports of a possible explosion at the NuSil plant located on the 2300 block of Pegasus Rd. KCFD says that a 55 gallon drum was on fire. The gallon was located outside of the building, which activated the fire sprinkler system inside of the building.

Two people were sent to the hospital, one with minor injuries and one with serious injuries. Four of the five buildings at the plant were cleared to reenter.

NuSil manufactures silicone products. Environmental Health Hazardous Material was on-scene and found no hazardous materials.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
