Two special events will be causing road closures in Central Bakersfield this week. On Thursday, September 13, the Downtown Business Association will be hosting their annual Taste of Downtown event.
Due to the event, Bakersfield Police will be closing down Eye Street between 18th Street and 19th Street. In addition, Wall Street Alley between Chester Avenue and "H" Street will be closed off.
These closures will begin at 2 p.m. and last until approximately 10 p.m.
A special event permit has also been issued to the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for the "El Grito De Dolores" event.
Bakersfield Police said that on Saturday, September 15. Truxtun Avenue will be closed in both directions between Chester Avenue and "L" Street from 5:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
