Two suspects arrested for burglarizing a local oilfield services company

In April of 2017, a local oilfield services company reported unknown suspects entered their equipment yard located in the 1000 block of James Road.

The suspects forcibly entered a mechanics workshop and stole a vehicle from inside. Later that day, deputies recovered the vehicle in a parking lot in the 5900 block of Knudsen Avenue.

Kern County Sheriff's Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit detectives assumed the investigation and located evidence at the scene. After a thorough investigation, detectives identified the suspects as Sean Butler, 28, and Chaz Escalante, 27. Butler and Escalante were located and arrested for the theft.

Both suspects were booked for burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, possession of a stolen vehicle.
