TAFT, Calif. — Two Taft women have been arrested after allegedly attempting to rob another woman.
According to KCSO, on Monday, March 11 around 7:18 p.m., deputies from the Taft Substation were dispatched to the 500 block of South 10th Street in Taft for reports of a robbery. KCSO says a woman was walking in the area when she was confronted by two women, who demanded her belongings.
KCSO says the victim ran into a nearby business and the two women followed her. While inside, KCSO says one of the women pushed the victim to the ground and punched her in an attempt to steal her backpack. The victim was able to hold onto her backpack, and the two women ran away.
Through an investigation, KCSO says they identified the two suspects as 22-year-old Tuttianna Tauta and 20-year-old Stormy Taylor. Both were arrested and booked into the Taft City Jail for attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime.
