The Bakersfield Police Department arrested two people for firearm violations overnight in Bakersfield.

Around 10:20 p.m. on Friday, a victim reported that they had been threatened with a firearm near the 3500 block of Ora Vista Avenue in southwest Bakersfield.

Once officers arrived, several subjects attempted to flee from the residence, and were eventually captured.

Ricardo Santana, 19, was identified as the subject who brandished the firearm.

After officers searched the residence, four firearms were seized, including two AR-15’s with high capacity magazines.

Santana was arrested for several firearm and assault related charges.

Then around 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a call for a fight that broke out at the AMPM convenience store, just a half a mile away, at 3220 Ming Avenue.

According to BPD, several suspects were detained in the parking lot. During the investigation, officers found a loaded .22 caliber firearm inside a vehicle in the parking lot.

After further investigation, officers discovered that a 16 year-old juvenile brandished the firearm at several people during a fight.

The juvenile was arrested and booked into juvenile hall, according to Bakersfield Police.
