UCLA and Bakersfield College partner to bring public health careers to underserved communities

Posted

The University of California Los Angeles has partnered with Bakersfield College to promote a program that helps teach those in underserved and underrepresented communities about jobs within public health.

The overall point of the session is to promote careers within the public health workforce to individuals in these communities, and to expand diversity within this field.

The information session will be held on Monday October 30, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Bakersfield College student government board conference room.

The session is open to not only Bakersfield College students, but also CSU Bakersfield students, and community partners.

The session will begin by highlighting the new public health degree Bakersfield College began offering in the fall of 2017.

This program was able to be brought by grant funded by the Center for Disease Control.

A parking permit is provided for those who wish to attend.
