BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Each year, the Accrediting Commission formally recognizes the success and significant achievements of ACCSC-accredited institutions and pays tribute to outstanding,
dedicated individuals.
This year ACCSC selected the UEI College campus located in Bakersfield for the 2019-20 School of Distinction award and also named administrator Sandi Lopez as the 2020 recipient of the Commitment to education award designed to recognize the efforts of a member of an ACCSC-accredited school's staff.
Lopez has worked at UEI college since 2012. She started as an instructor in the Medical Assistant program and quickly moved her way up to Associate Director of Curriculum and Academic Services.
"I was both thrilled and a little overwhelmed when I learned that I was selected for this recognition," Lopez said. "I am honored to work with so many talented individuals who are truly obsessed with student success, and all of us together are changing lives," Lopez added. "I thank ACCSC for this recognition - It will always be a highlight of my career. I would also thank my colleagues, and the many students I've had the pleasure of serving for their dedication to pursue their goals."
