The April jobs report shows Kern County has its lowest unemployment rate since 2017.

The report shows unemployment in Kern County is now at 8.3%, which is the lowest unemployment in the county since December. Kern County is currently ranked 53rd out of 58 California counties in unemployment.

The report also shows 11,000 new jobs were added in the county from March to April and 3,200 compared to April from 2017. 1,600 of those jobs were in the Professional Business Service.

According to the report California's unemployment rate is at 3.8% a bit about the national average of 3.7%.
