Unemployment rates in Kern County took a slight dip from September to October of 2017. The unemployment rate was 8.1 percent in September of 2017 and dipped down to 7.5 percent in October of 2017. 

The unemployment rate dropped from 9.1 percent a year ago in October of 2016. 

The unadjusted unemployment rate for the state of California is currently 4.3 percent, while the unemployment rate for the nation sits at 3.9 percent. 

The unemployment information was released today, Friday November 17, 2017 from the State of California Employment Development Department.
