The Kern County Sheriff's Department said an unidentified female was found in the Kern River just a 1/4 mile east of China Grade Loop in Bakersfield.

KCSO said the woman was found Friday afternoon just after 3 p.m.

The identity of the female will be determined by the Coroner's office.
