Upper Kern River campgrounds are closed from August 25 until further notice due to the Cedar Fire.

The Upper Kern River camping corridor has been experiencing some ember activity, falling ash, and heavy smoke, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

The roads will remain open and day-use from dawn until dusk will still be allowed.
