Vacant home damaged in fire in Taft

TAFT, Calif. — A vacant house was damaged in a fire early this morning in Taft.

According to the Kern County Fire Department, firefighters were called out around 3:14 a.m. to the 1000 block of Stevens Street in Taft. It took firefighters about 5 minutes to put out the fire.

KCFD says the house was vacant at the time. They also do not know the cause of the fire at this time. 50% of the house was destroyed in the fire.
